proceduresAll treatments are done on an outpatient basis in our “state of the art” on-site surgical facilities. The procedures are done under local anesthesia (lidocaine solution injections) except for sclerotherapy and ultrasound guided sclerotherapy (no anesthesia needed). There is minimal pain/discomfort if any associated with these procedures. All are well tolerated. Bandages or special compression stockings are used after all procedures from 3 to 7 days. There is no down-time or bed rest for any of these procedures. Normal activity and walking is the rule. Vigorous exercise may be resumed from 3 to 14 days after depending on the procedure. Patients are expected to follow-up anywhere from 3 to 14 days depending on the procedure, then usually at 6 or 12 months. Venous disease or varicose veins is a chronic problem, that is, once the condition exists there is a greater possibility for other healthy veins to become affected. Veins that have been treated by eliminating their source are unlikely to reoccur. The Varicose Solutions™ approach not only eliminates varicose and spiders veins at their source, but also prevents the problem from spreading or reoccurring. Yearly vein screenings are advised to detect underlying source veins before they become widespread and visible. |
